Indoor Safari Park in Flower Mound

Over the summer I saw a Groupon deal for a new play place that looked really fun called Indoor Safari Park in Flower Mound, TX. They have a location in Plano that we plan to visit soon. There just so happened to be Groupon deal for that location the day we visited the Flower Mound one. If you haven't heard of Groupon before, what are you waiting for? They have some great deals - last week I got a $20 Toy's R Us coupon for only $10 and it could be used with other coupons! There is an app for iPhone so you don't even have to print out your coupon - just show your phone and they can scan the barcode. Super easy!

Anyways, yesterday we finally decided to check out this super fun play place. It was Safari themed and there were 3 different play grounds geared toward different ages. There was also a toddler area for kids 6 months - 2 years.

Olivia wanted to play in the big kid play area. This one was for ages 4+.

This was near the toddler area. It was geared towards older toddlers. There was a slide, ball pit, and trampoline in each of the play areas!

With your basic admission (normally $9.99 for kids and adults pay $1) you get a train ride and a robotic animal ride. There are also other packages available (they have things like miniature golf and pottery painting).

There was an area that had about a dozen train tables (they each had a different theme), doll houses, toy kitchens, etc. This was a big hit for my girls!

Grace has a doll house similar to this (basically a bigger version) but she had so much fun playing with this one.

Grace wasn't too sure about riding a robotic animal but when she saw other kids ride them she could hardly wait for her turn. Anytime another kid rode on one she would run back there to watch. I think she was hoping she would get another turn!

We stayed for a couple of hours but I am sure they would have loved to play all day. I think next time we go we will eat at their little cafe and play all day! We went during the week and it wasn't busy at all. I would guess it would be pretty crowded on the weekends since you can have birthday parties there.

It's a great place to take your kids when the weather is too yucky for the park!

Just see for yourself how much fun this place is!

Duck Pond and Park

Our neighborhood has a lot of parks and several ponds with ducks. This past summer was pretty hot and dry so the ponds were down a lot and it was hard to find the ducks but we finally found some in the front pond. There is also a big playground next to the pond.

First, we fed all of our bread to the ducks. The girls love to feed the ducks and Olivia is getting pretty good at tearing little pieces off to make her bread last longer.

And then we went to play! Olivia thinks she is just as big as all the other kids and climbed to the highest part of the playground.

And then I tried to take Grace's picture at the top of the tube slide hid behind her hand.

Windmill Playground

A few weeks ago we heard about a fun park in a town not to far from us. We had to check it out!
It is the Windmill Playground at Frontier Park in Prosper.

It was warm and they still had the water misters turned on! Of course this was one of Grace's favorite things. There was a small splash pad but we didn't have any extra clothes so we stayed away from that this time.

There is a section for toddlers that we explored first.

Then we headed over to the area for the bigger kids.

Grace loved the tight rope!

Olivia likes to join the big kids in all the fun and found a little girl and followed her all over. They climbed to the top of the playground and went down this slide over and over!

Recently Grace has been wanting her picture taken every time she finds one of these photo ops. She wasn't too sure about this one at first though because it looked like a BOY! We decided that it must be a girl farmer wearing overalls because she was working in the hay.

And we couldn't leave without swinging!!!

We have been back once and I am sure we will be back lots more.

Celebration Park in Allen, TX

I have been looking for a spray park to take the girls to. There are several water parks nearby but not any spray parks. So one Saturday we decided to make a spray park part of a fun day trip. It is only about 45 min away but we had some other things we wanted to do in the area as well.

Celebration Park in Allen, TX is one of the biggest parks we have been to. There is a pretty large water area and a big playground. Being so hot outside it was too hot to play on the playground but Grace walked around and checked it out. It looked like there were areas for toddlers as well as older kids. We will have to go back once it cools off a bit.

I think Grace enjoys anything to do with water! Olivia liked it too but she really enjoyed just being able to walk around in the big open area the best. And I just realized I didn't take any pictures of Olivia with my camera! Oops!

This last picture is just part of the park. It is a lot bigger than that!

Stonebriar Center

Last week we decided to go back to the Stonebriar Center since it was closed the last time we were there and we didn't really get to see that much. First stop was Vera Bradley! I got a $20 coupon for my birthday and I was wanting to check out the new products that released that day.

Then we found the play area. It was a big hit with the girls. There were a lot of kids there and from what I gathered it stays pretty busy. They also close it everyday to clean it which is something you don't see at all mall play areas.
After playing we were all hungry so we stopped by the food court and found a Chick-Fil-A. Yummy! I promised Grace a trip to the "Princess Store" aka Disney.

We saw a carousel and the girls REALLY wanted to ride.

Grace picked out her horse and Olivia climbed on the horse next to it.

This was Olivia's first time to ride a carousel but Grace remembers riding one at the zoo with Grandma not too long ago.

Olivia was full of smiles and giggles!

She did NOT want to get off when it stopped. Maybe next time we can take Daddy and make him ride :)

A New Park!

Last week we found a new park on-post so we planned a day earlier this week to go. I am so glad we did! They just built this park over the winter.

We only played on one side of the park. There was a lot more that we didn't even venture over to see. We are going to have to go back because I think this is our new favorite!

Maybe next time we can get a friend to go to race Grace down the slide.

The girls enjoyed crawling through this little tunnel!

And Olivia has really started LOVING the swings!!

Next time we are leaving her white shoes at home :)

I think Grace's favorite thing was the butterfly she found. It had a hurt wing and couldn't fly.

We will probably be back at the park next week!

A Sunny Weekend

The weather this past weekend was really nice! We had temperatures in the 70's both Friday and Saturday. This meant lots of time spent outside. I had planned to take Grace to a park Friday afternoon but then decided to try and meet Dustin on-post during his lunch break for a picnic at a park. After hurrying to get to the park I was informed that he was done for the day. We spent a couple hours at one of the many nice parks on-post. Grace had tons of fun! Before we headed home we stopped by the community office for a bathroom break (Grace is almost potty trained!!) and we got free cookies. I didn't take my camera Friday and I haven't got the pictures my Mom took that day, sorry!

When we got home we pulled out the bounce house. Grace really enjoys jumping in it! We pulled it out another time (I think it was Thursday night) too. We had some neighbors stop by to play and we talked to several other neighbors who were out on walks enjoying the nice weather. We invited them all to come back and play next time we have the bounce house up!

We pulled out all of Grace's outside toys that we have been waiting to play with. She got a Dora trike for her birthday and a Barbie Jeep for Christmas. The weather has been a little too cold for her to enjoy them much but this weekend she got to ride on them a lot!

The birthday hat she is wearing in the picture of her in the Jeep was from a birthday party we attended last weekend. A family walked by and saw Grace riding her Jeep and wearing a birthday hat and the bounce house in the yard and thought we were having a birthday party. They were so nice and told her "Happy Birthday!"

On Saturday we went to the park in Cyril. We had never been to this park! Since it is the same town my cousins live in we called to see if any of them wanted to come play too. And Papa Bill came by to see us!

There are swings and slides and Grace would rather play with rocks!
