Video

Here is a video I took of Grace the other day in her massaging bouncy seat. This was the first time that we tried out the massage feature and I think she likes it! You might have to tilt your head to the side to see the video... I keep forgetting that videos can't be rotated (or maybe I just don't know how!)

And here is a picture I thought was just so cute. Grace fell asleep in her swing sucking her thumb!

Sleepy Baby... Happy Baby

So that 4 hour nap... yeah, Grace was up past midnight! And she didn't sleep in either. After waking up twice in the night she finally was up for the day at 7:45 this morning. And you would think she would try to sleep all day, right? Not so much. She took a 1/2 hour nap this morning, then fell asleep for about 20 min. while we were at the commissary, and then slept for about 45 min this afternoon. So in the past, oh.. about 24 hours she has slept maybe 8 hours. And you would think she would be fussy, but no! She has been in a very playful mood today. Here is a video to prove it!

Now hoping we can keep her up until close to a decent bedtime so we aren't up all night tonight (and the next night, and the next, and so on)

Wonderful Weekend

We have had a wonderful weekend and have stayed pretty busy. Dustin got the weekend off (out of the field) for the 4-day which was really nice so he made it home Thursday night.
On Friday we picked up Grace's passport and CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad) She can finally leave the country!! Then we took her in to the doctor for a nurse visit because her eye was looking a little red but it is just the common "goopy eye syndrome" that she has had since birth. Yeah, we probably over reacted but she has been a little congested so we thought maybe it was something more serious. We were told to keep watching her eye because there are evidently a lot of eye infections here and we don't want it to get to that. We went and got all of the paperwork we need to get her social security number and then ran a few more errands. And to cap off the day, Grace got to have bath time with her Daddy!

Saturday was a surprise baby shower that some friends had for us. Grace got some really cute outfits and several cool toys (she LOVES toys!) And we got a couple picture frames with pictures of Grace to hang in our hallway. It was very nice and a lot of fun! It was in the morning so we made it home for a late lunch and a much needed nap. Oh, and the video of Grace rolling over was taken at the shower!

Today (Sunday), we headed off to church (made it for Sunday school again!) and then went to Macaroni Grill to eat with some good friends afterwards (we should go there more often... coloring on the table is quite entertaining!!) When we got home we took Grace for a walk. She of course fell asleep in the stroller but she enjoyed the beautiful weather! After a 4 hour nap (what is that going to do to her bedtime????) she was in a very playful mood so we took some videos. We need to get better at using the cameras more often. We still have 1 more day left of the weekend!

Caught on Film

We finally got a video of Grace rolling over. She did it for the first time at 20 days old and has done it a few times since then so this was actually the 6th time she rolled over (she rolled over 3 times today!) She can roll from her tummy to her back!!

Update

Well, Grace is 1 month old today! She is growing so much and is so alert. At her check-up at 2 1/2 weeks she weighed 9 lbs! She has her favorite toys, book, and song. She is defintely the center of everyone's attention around here.

In the past month we have been staying pretty busy, and not just busy taking care of Grace. We made our first big outing to the Pineapple Park in Nago (Grace was 1 week old), then we went with friends to the Aquarium (almost 2 weeks). The day after Christmas we went to the Botanical Garden's Christmas Paradise to see the Christmas lights and light show (2 weeks). And our last big trip was this past weekend to Shuri Castle (3 1/2 weeks). We have also taken several shopping trips and been to a few restraunts off-base, we normally stick to places on-base but we were very impressed with the few we have tried lately.
For New Year's Eve we went to a friend's house and had a game night. We had a great time playing Battle of the Sexes (and the girls won!!) We made it home before midnight and were in bed shortly after. Grace let us sleep until 4:30 when she woke up for just long enough to eat and then went right back to sleep for a few more hours!

Here are some pictures we took over the past month. There were quite a few times we didn't take the camera since we had our personal photographer with us so we don't have pictures of everything but I am sure Mom does on her myspace (www.myspace.com/hellobabyphotos)

This past Sunday was Grace's dedication at church.

Playtime!

I wanted to post this for Uncle Andrew so he could see how much Grace loves the mirror he got her. She will just lay there and stare at herself and make faces or coo and smile!
