The Grace Cam

Today we took Grace to get a surprise!
After a stop at Wal-Mart we headed to Chick-fil-a and gave her the surprise before we went in to eat. We got her a camera of her very own!! She was so excited!

Grace loves to take pictures. She actually doesn't like us to take pictures of her, she wants to take pictures of other people. She is almost a pro at using my Mom's big camera. So when we gave her a little digital {kids} camera she had a bit of a problem figuring it out. For starters there is not a view finder, only the small screen on the back. I downloaded the pictures to the computer tonight and out of 109 this is what we got.

She figured out how to add borders!

She also figured out the flash. All I have figured out is how to turn it on.

She loves seeing the cows at Chick-fil-a

I think this is from one of the signs

She thought the bathroom would be a nice place to take a picture

Another cow

Cars outside

The van

Another shot of my van

And the hearts on her jeans

She has to get some practice in before Olivia is born because she is going to be a big helper and take lots of pictures for us!

Olivia's Nursery

We finally finished (except for a couple of pictures I want to hang that will have to wait until we have newborn pictures of Olivia) the nursery. I absolutely love how it turned out! It took Dustin a couple of days to paint but I think it was well worth all the time and effort.

This is looking in her room. You can see the corner of her changing table on the right and part of the closet door. On the left is her dresser.

The changing table and shelf (the pink tubs are full of toys!). I want to take a picture of her and put her name, birthday, time, weight/length on it and frame it in a big white frame and hang it above the changing table.

This is her dresser. It was what we used for Grace while we were in Okinawa. It was pretty ugly so we had it hidden in the closet. When we moved here Grace got the larger dresser and my brother painted this one to match Olivia's furniture. It looks brand new! I made the little cover for the top (and in the process made Grace a little blanket for her baby dolls). I want my brother to paint a canvas to match the bedding to hang above the dresser.

And this is the crib. A friend of ours made the letters for a shower gift. I love them!! I think the letter "V" is my favorite because of the little bird that matches the bedding :-) They are NOT sloping to the right, it is just the angle of the picture.

And I just love her bedding! The pink part of the quilt and bumpers are super soft. The teddy bear has a recording of Olivia's heartbeat inside.

And this is her closet door. Above the door is the vinyl decal I had made that says
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23"

I am still looking for something to put in the shadow boxes hanging above the glider. And I am going to put her picture in the frame on the shelf to the right of the crib.

Playing Dress Up

Grace has really started to enjoy playing dress up so much more lately. On Saturday morning we were trying to do some finishing touches on Olivia's room and while we were busy Grace decided it would be fun to dress up. She put on a great fashion show to entertain me while I was working in Olivia's room!

Can you tell she is saying "Cheese" in these next two pictures?

Snow Day!

Last night we went to bed with thunder, lightening, and sleet outside. This morning when we woke up the ground was covered in SNOW! Pretty much everything is closed today (including Fort Sill!!) so we will be staying at home today! This is the first time Grace has ever seen the ground covered in snow. So we put on all of her warmest clothes and let her go out to play!

It is pretty windy and the snow is just blowing like crazy in circles. Hopefully the wind will die down this afternoon so she can enjoy it a little more. I think we will be collecting a bowl of snow soon so we can make a little snow ice cream!
