Ice Cream!

Grandma got a Soft Serve Ice Cream maker for her birthday last week. She made up a batch of yummy ice cream and let us try it on Sunday.

Just look at Olivia and her ice cream cone. She knows just what to do with it.

The girls had already got to try it earlier this week but since we were busy with the movers we didn't. Grace was sure to let us know that she had tried it and we hadn't on the way over.

Grace likes to add sprinkles to hers.

What a great summer treat! And with lots of toppings and cones everyone can make theirs just they way they like it.

Moving

We have been busy getting ready to move. I have missed the last two weeks of Project Life but I am hoping to get back into the swing of things soon. The last two days were spent with the packers here packing up all of our stuff. The truck won't be here until tomorrow to load everything. Then it will all head to Texas and sit in storage for about 3 months.

We went house hunting about 2 weeks ago. This is the first time we have ever looked at houses that were being occupied at the time and boy was it interesting. There was one house we barely made it in the front door before we high tailed it to the car! We found one house that we really liked but there was already an offer put in on it and there were several things that we would want fixed/changed. There was one other house and it was just ok. There were several things in that house that we would want changed as well. Then we met with the builder at the model home and found out we could build a house like the one that was our favorite!

We put in an offer and with the help of our realtor we ended up getting a lot of extras included. So the last two weeks have been full of paperwork. We also had to make a quick trip to Dallas to visit the Design Gallery and choose all of our options for the house. Then a visit to Sherwin Williams to pick up paint swatches to choose our exterior colors.

Since the house won't be ready until the very end of August that leaves us needing a place to live for 2 months. I finally found an apartment that will give us a two month lease! And since we won't be moving from this house straight to our new house that leaves a lot of extra stuff we needed to hold out and move on our own. Plus all of the things the movers wouldn't pack... there is a lot more of that this move than all our others. The craziest thing they wouldn't pack is Kleenexes. I have no idea why either.

Project Life Week 19 & 20

I am just combining the last 2 weeks photos. I have been bad about using my camera (need to find batteries!) so most of these are phone pictures. And I cannot get the pictures to arrange the way I want them so they are in a VERY random order :)

The Mom Creative

5/17 - Grace got to be the first one to try out the pool slide that we got my Mom for Mother's Day/her birthday. The girls had a blast on it!

5/12 - Grace decided she would "trick" Daddy into thinking it was Mother's Day a day early. It worked! The girls made me a cute card with their hand prints and we all got matching aprons! We decided to make Daddy a berry cobbler :)

5/14 - I found this picture on my phone. We had friends over and they were playing with the camera app and took this picture of Olivia.

5/13 - The girls love playing in the pool.

5/15 - We went to Target with our friend and came home with this fun water toy!

5/19 - Watching for Daddy in the Armed Forces Day parade.
The girls loved watching the parade.

5/19 - My little helpers wearing their matching aprons (I have one too!) that we got for Mother's Day.

5/18 - Painting is so much fun. But SO messy!

5/10 - We had our Hail & Farewell at Medicine Park. I took the girls for a walk and Grace asked me to take her picture. I think she must have recognized the scenery from pictures her Grandma has taken out there.

5/17 - Remember that bunny that was living under our playset? Well, it had babies! We found 5 bunnies in our backyard.

5/9 - Having fun on the swing at church with Daddy!

Project Life Week 18

This week we had some very warm, sunny days. We were able to enjoy playing in the water and swimming quite a bit!

Project Life Week 18 - April 29 - May 5

Sunday - Olivia loves to eat with a spoon and fork. She loves to do it all by herself. She was a little messy with her yogurt at snack time.

Monday - Playing IN the toy basket can be so much fun!

Tuesday - Grace had fun with a little science experiment. She mixed baking soda and vinegar and watched the bubbles that were created. We did it in the shower to make it easier and less messy :)

Wednesday - We got groceries and Grace asked for green ice cream. Mint chocolate chip seems to be her new favorite. I bought the girls each their own tiny carton.

Thursday - First day in the pool!!!

Friday - We spent the afternoon playing in the water outside. Olivia decided to climb up the slide. She is my brave little girl!

Saturday - After a long morning of garage sales, I put air in the little wading pool and filled it with water. The girls had so much fun!

New Adventure

We are moving. Dustin starts a new job in July down in Texas. He is officially leaving the Army. Orders are in hand!

We are trying to sell our house here so we can start the process of buying a house down there. Grace has already decided what color she wants to paint her room! And if you ask her about our move she will tell you
"We are moving to Texas. But not Texas Roadhouse. Texas Denton. You can't throw peanuts on the ground there. Texas Roadhouse would be too loud to live at."

I am sure we will be making the drive to OK quite often so Grace can swim and have tea parties. We are looking at houses in a community with a pool and waterpark. Anyone want to take their summer vacation to our house?

Project Life Week 17

The Mom Creative
Week 17 - April 22 - 28

We had such a good week! I had forgotten most of what we did but looking back at my pictures I am reminded of some really fun times.

Monday - I have a coloring page app on my phone and Grace loves to play with it. She was relaxing with my phone before bed.

Tuesday - This is a toy that Grace got for her first birthday. Olivia has really loved playing with it lately.

Wednesday - I took Grace out to get our toes painted (she got a manicure too!). She loved soaking her toes in the the water. Afterwards we stopped next door at Orange Leaf.

Thursday - This last week/weekend was our local Just Between Friends consignment sale. I dropped some stuff off Thursday morning to sale. That afternoon we were waiting for Dustin to get off work so he could take the girls home and I could shop. Grace was sound asleep in the car seat but Olivia was singing and playing.

Friday - We attended a Strong Bonds retreat with Dustin's unit. Grace found some pine cones at the hotel. We tried to have a little science lesson with them that night in the hotel. Our pine cones wouldn't close up when we got them wet though. Now we need to find some more and try again!

Saturday - We took the girls to Bricktown in OKC. We walked around near the riverwalk, saw some baby ducklings

Project Life Week 16

The Mom Creative
Project Life Week 16 - April 15 - 21

Sunday - Grace got out of bed to ask if she could have some "kangaroo cheese." She saw a kangaroo eating cheese on a cartoon a while back and calls it kangaroo cheese now.

Monday - Olivia got into the toilet paper while I was in the shower. I had to grab my camera before I cleaned up the mess.

Tuesday - We made cakes for Dustin's birthday, which was Wednesday. He requested Funfetti cake or pineapple upside down cake. Since we were going to church that night and they have dinner every week I made both and took dessert. Grace got her own cupcake to decorate. The frosting is her favorite part so after I finished frosting the cupcakes she got the rest of the container and frosted hers about 3 times!

Thursday - My Mom kept the girls all day. She had just got this water table and I think the girls really enjoyed it.

Friday - While driving down the road I saw this old farm truck. It is just like a lot of the little trucks we saw all over while in Okinawa. The steering wheel was even on the right side!

Saturday - The girls got invited to a birthday party. They got to share a monster cupcake!
